24 hours in Glasgow

Twenty-four hours in Glasgow is just not
enough, but if you’re really pushed for time
the following suggested itinerary will give a
brief indication of why this is now considered
one of the most exciting cities in Europe.

Start the day at the People’s Palace on
Glasgow Green for an introduction to the
city’s history.

Head across to Sauchiehall
Street for mid-morning coffee in the Willow
Tea Rooms and admire the elegant interior
design of Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Down
to Princes Square for a spot of shopping,
followed by a walk around the Merchant
City and lunch in Babbity Bowster

After lunch, head up to the School
of Art, take a tour and find out what
all the fuss is about.

Then head across
the M8 to St George’s Cross Underground
and take the subway to Hillhead for
a browse round the trendy shops of
Byres Road

Stop for an aperitif in one
of the many cool bars and cafés then
it’s off for dinner to the one-and-only
Ubiquitous Chip

Take a cab back to
the city centre for a cruise round some
of the hip pre-club bars before hitting
one of the city’s legendary clubs for a
good old boogie.
