When to go

Altitude is the main impact on climate. In Tegucigalpa, at 1000 m, temperatures range from 4°C (January-March) up to 33°C (April-May). In the lowlands to the north, temperatures
in San Pedro Sula range from 20-37°C with the coolest months being November
to February. On the Caribbean the dry season stretches from February to June, while the heaviest rains fall August to December. Inland, rain falls throughout the year, with the drier months being November to April. Some of the central highland areas enjoy a delightful climate, with a freshness that makes a pleasant contrast to the humidity and heat of the lowland zones.
