Airport information

Mount Pleasant airport is 35 miles from Stanley.
Falkland Islands Tours and Travel
, transports passengers and luggage to and from the capital for £15 single. Departing passengers should make reservations.

Cruise ships en-route to/from South Georgia and the Antarctic are also a popular way to visit the Islands. Vessels typically visit between October and April each year. Passengers usually land for tours of Stanley and nearby sites, pub lunch, farmhouse tea, and call at outlying islands, such as Saunders, Carcass, West Point, New and Sea Lion Islands. Further details of companies that include the Falklands/Malvinas in their itineraries can be found on

Length of stay

As flights from Chile only go once a week, stays in multiples of seven days are the only option. In one week you can see Stanley and a couple of nearby attractions, plus a bit of West Falkland or one or two islands, but the inter-island flight schedules will determine how much time you can stay on the outer islands. In two weeks you can see much more of East and West Falkland and several outer islands. The airbridge from the UK offers more flexibility. Cruise ship passengers do not disembark for more than a few hours.
