Pacific coast

Running the length of the country to the south, the Pacific coastline is a blend of stunning views, quiet beaches and private resorts. If basking in the sun isn't enough, the coast is a big hit with the surf crowd as some of the best surfing spots are located in the departments of La Libertad and Las Flores in San Miguel. For a little more activity, you can go west and visit the impressive Parque Nacional El Imposible. Heading east towards Nicaragua, the islands of the Gulf of Fonseca are equally cut off.
