Planning

A country as large and varied as Colombia has a great deal of sights worth visiting. A comprehensive look at the country will require a good deal of time and planning. If you have limited time and want to see as much as possible, you could consider air travel. If you have more time, there are good Pullman and minibuses.

You will almost certainly arrive in the country via Bogotá or Cartagena, so a look at these two cities is a good place to start. Use our selection of itineraries as a guideline for what is possible within different time frames, and have a look at our sections on when and where to go.
