São Lourenço, 60 km southeast of Lambari, is easily accessible from Rio de Janeiro (five or six hours by bus) or São Paulo (six or seven hours by bus), and is useful as a junction but is fairly dull in its own right. There is a splendid park with tennis, boating, swimming, a flying field and fishing. Its rich mineral waters are used in the treatment of various medical complaints.
