Best time to visit

The driest and busiest season is July to October. At the height of the rainy season, December to March, you will find more mud and mosquitoes, but fewer tourists, hence prices might be lower but it could take longer to assemble a tour group. Transportation by both road and air are also less reliable in the wet season.

Health and safety

The town itself has little or no malaria, but malaria precautions are necessary when you get deeper into the jungle.
