Running parallel to the Río Uruguay, the Río Paraná weaves its lazy course right across the northeast of Argentina, from Misiones to Buenos Aires where it forms a vast delta. If you have time for a road trip from Buenos Aires to Corrientes, you will pass through the major cities of Rosario and Santa Fe. There are two main routes north: an interesting journey is along the eastern banks of the river, through Paraná via small towns with wildlife spotting and fishing and onwards to Goya and Corrientes; or the more major route north along the western banks, through the cities of Rosario and Santa Fe to Reconquista and Resistencia.
