San Luis province

The province of San Luis has always been considered Córdoba's poorer sister: it's further from Buenos Aires, lacking a grand city centre and is not popular with tourists, apart from the over-visited resort town of Merlo on the border. However, there's a spectacular national park, Sierra de las Quijadas, with a great red sandstone canyon and fossil-strewn lunar landscape and you can still find remote places where rural life is sleepy and traditional.
