Getting there

Bandar Seri Begawan airport has direct air links with most Southeast Asian capitals and direct flights from the UK, China and Australia/New Zealand.

There are daily express boats to Bandar Seri Begawan from Lawas and Limbang in northern Sarawak, and from the duty-free island of Labuan in Sabah, itself connected by boat to Kota Kinabalu.

The main overland route from Sarawak is by bus from Miri to Kuala Belait, in the far western corner of Brunei. It is also possible to travel overland from Limbang or Lawas to Bangar, in the Temburong district of Brunei, from where it is a short boat trip to Bandar Seri Begawan, although this is a relatively expensive option.
