Chefchaouen, the Rif and Al Hoceïma

East of Tangier and Ceuta, along Morocco's northern coast, the Rif mountains rise steeply out of the Mediterranean, making access less easy and meaning that this is one of the country's less visited areas, despite its closeness to Europe. Chefchaouen is an exception to this rule - a popular traveller hangout, with good reason, it epitomizes the area's easy-going charms, not always disconnected with the region's kif (marijuana) production.
