East from Nanyuki

From Nanyuki, the road turns southeast through Meru and Embu and joins the A2 again in Sagana, completing its loop around Mount Kenya. The eastern side of the mountain is heavily cultivated and coffee is grown on the higher volcanic slopes. Meru National Park lies to the east, and although little visited does offer a couple of upmarket lodges, and a number of black and white rhino have recently been reintroduced.
