With a foot in both Europe and Asia, Turkey is just that little bit more exciting and off the beaten track than Greece. Istanbul provides a distinctively Turkish workout for the senses, while ancient ruins like Ephesus and Aspendos are some of the finest in the Mediterranean. There are also plenty of family resorts and enticing beaches along its 8300-km coastline, and you’ll find that the Turks dote on children just as much as their Greek neighbours.
