Nice cars, good beer, fine composers  but surely not that great for family holidays? Well, actually, yes. Germany might lack the charisma of the Spanish Costas or the magnetism of Disneyland Paris, but what it lacks in big names and notoriety it more than compensates for with a veritable cheer-fest of family attractions, ranging from island retreats in the Baltic Sea to roller-coaster mayhem at Europa-Park. Whats more, Germany is easy to reach and a piece of (Black Forest) cake to get around, whether you’re cruising the autobahn towards Berlin or dawdling along the Fairy Tale Route on the lookout for the seven dwarves.
