Touring Northern Ireland can offer up surprises at every turn. In the last decade the country has established itself as a ‘must-see’ destination after years of internal turmoil and political unrest. Now back on an even keel, you’ll find some fantastic facilities and accommodation for families that complement the often breathtaking natural wonders already on offer. On the east side of the country, leave the hustle and bustle of Belfast behind and head north to explore the Antrim Coast on one of Europe’s most scenic drives, checking out ancient ruins and natural phenomena en route. Alternatively, head south to sample the seaside charms of Newcastle where the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the Sea…Travelling over to the west, the Fermanagh Lakelands provide a backdrop to a host of activities from caving to cruising. While further north the rejuvenated city of Londonderry plays host to some of the country’s best shopping experiences. Northern Ireland also has its fair share of castles, beaches and country parks so when the sun shines, there’s plenty of opportunity for some outdoor fun.
